Celtic have been slow out the blocks this summer but are gradually moving towards their first incomings of the summer.
Reports have claimed that Camilo Duran is already on his way to complete a medical before sealing his move from Qarabag and that may just open the floodgates.
Alongside the forward, the Bhoys have also received a major boost in pursuit of Kieron Bowie, who could already be on his way back to Scotland just months after he left Hibernian for Verona in January.

Football FanCast’s Verdict |

|---|---|
|
Credibility |
It looks like Bowie’s Italian adventure could be over this summer if Celtic get their way. The deal won’t come cheap, though, with Verona ready to green-light bids worth as much as €15m (£13m). |
|
Finances |
That £13m asking price would make the Scottish forward the most-expensive signing in Celtic’s history ahead of Arne Engels. Whether the Bhoys deem Bowie worth that record is the big question. |
|
Insight |
The forward’s time in Italy has been fairly mixed, having scored four goals in 14 Serie A games, but no one can deny his quality in the Scottish Premiership. It’s there that he scored eight goals last season and six in the campaign prior. |
|
Impact |
A move for Bowie could allow Daizen Maeda to leave. The Japan international publicly stated his desire for a better challenge at the World Cup and his exit will surely be inevitable if another forward arrives. |
Bowie won’t come cheap. Far from it, in fact, but if Celtic are to make a statement then they must splash the cash at some stage this summer.
Verona green light record bid for Bowie
According to Corriere di Verona in Italy, as relayed by Sport Witness, Verona are ready to green-light Bowie’s exit if a €15m (£13m) offer arrives this summer.

Although Celtic are keen on the forward, who would be their record transfer, they’re not the only side interested. As per those reports in Italy, Bowie is someone that “everyone’s going crazy” about, potentially sparking a hectic race for Verona’s starman.
Celtic should avoid record bid for Bowie
At a time when Celtic aren’t the biggest spenders in the Scottish Premiership, they should not look to spend big on Bowie. As much as the forward knows how to find the back of the net in Scotland, his record was never that of a leading name. And for a record price, that’s not good enough.
Last season proved that Celtic need to get their business right. The title race was all too close for comfort as far as they were concerned and signing a clinical goalscorer is one way to open the gap on their rivals again.
For £13m, the Bhoys would be better off targeting a name like Motherwell’s Tawanda Maswanhise this summer.
Celtic could see £6m bid accepted to sign their new Arne Engels
Celtic are reportedly eyeing up a move for a star who could be their next version of Arne Engels.
