Newcastle United have found themselves a new rival in the transfer window and this time it’s all about Franculino Dju. The Magpies are joined by Everton in the race to sign the Midtjylland as well as a number of other Premier League sides.
A huge battle is erupting to secure the forward’s signature, with Leeds United, Fulham and Brentford also keeping an eye on his situation. Such heavy interest has arrived fresh from his spell on the sidelines and fresh from a campaign of 17 goals in 17 starts in the Superligaen in Denmark.

Newcastle need a win in the summer transfer window after missing out on Johan Manzambi and Victor Munoz, and that may come courtesy of Dju. The forward would also solve a striker problem that Nick Woltemade failed to solve last season. At just over €25m (£21m), the Magpies should swoop in. |

Of course, it’s not just Newcastle that need a striker this summer. Everton also had a problem in that department last season. New arrival Thierno Barry failed to hit the ground running and it’s clear that Beto cannot be a long-term option. Instead, they need to focus on a talent like Dju. |

In contrast to Newcastle and Everton, Leeds United are not desperate for a striker. They already solved their problem last summer by signing Dominic Calvert-Lewin on a free deal. The forward ended the campaign with 14 Premier League goals, allowing those at Elland Road to invest in other areas. |

Brentford |
The same can be said for Brentford. There was plenty of concern when Yoane Wissa and Bryan Mbeumo departed, only for Igor Thiago to quickly put those concerns to bed. The added addition of Jaiden Anthony this summer means that they’re likely to focus on areas away from their frontline for the rest of the summer. |

Fulham |
Fulham could be outsiders in this race. They lost Raul Jimenez at the end of last season as his contract came to an end. They’ve now got the task of finding a replacement and winning the race for Dju would be quite the statement to commence Alvaro Arbeloa’s tenure. |
The race is heating up to secure the young forward, but Everton and Newcastle will be hoping to step ahead of the chasing pack after learning Midtjylland’s sale conditions.
Midtjylland ready to sell Franculino Dju on one condition
As reported by TeamTalk, Everton and Newcastle have the green light to sign Dju on the condition that they hand Midtjylland a record sale. Their club-record sale currently sits at €25m (£21m) from when they sold Ernest Nuamah to RWD Molenbeek in 2023, meaning that their asking price is still within the range of Premier League clubs.
After 17 goals in 17 league starts last season, the 22-year-old has found himself at the centre of endless praise. Scout Jacek Kulig even went as far as to dub Dju “sensational” back in October and it’s fair to say that a Premier League move would be much-deserved for the forward.
