Lane Kiffin went from friend to foe in Oxford in a matter of days.
The renowned SEC head coach led the Ole Miss Rebels to their first playoff appearance, only to leave for LSU right before the postseason trip. Kiffin even threatened to deny some of his assistants jobs if they stuck with the program’s playoff run after he denied their request to coach them, despite having agreed to a deal with the Tigers.
However, despite the ugly optics, Kiffin still insists he didn’t betray Ole Miss. In an appearance on SEC Network, he claimed that as much as he wanted to coach LSU, he had a big place for Ole Miss in his heart.
Lane Kiffin claims he loved Ole Miss
“It was the right decision to take the job,” Kiffin said. “There is never a minute, second in the day that I’m at LSU that I don’t feel the power of LSU. That I don’t feel the magnitude of LSU.”
