The Montreal Canadiens didn’t have serious interest in Anthony Mantha

Marco D’Amico: There was some talk that the Montreal Canadiens had some interest in Anthony Mantha, but the interest wasn’t that serious and they didn’t make a legit offer.

Three potential trade candidates for the Nashville Predators

Alex Daugherty of The Tennessean: Nashville Predators new GM Chris MacFarland has been busy this offseason by adding seven new players to his roster through free agency and trades with the Avalanche and Stars. They have 26 players under contract at the moment, and will need to get that number down to 23 by the start of season.

Back on the first day of free agency, MacFarland had noted that they may have to move out some players that they may not normally consider in order to improve in other areas.

Potential trade candidates

1. Ilya Lyubushkin – Landing Mavrik Bourque was the key piece of the Dallas Stars trade, salary removal. A team may come calling for his physical game and net them a late-round pick.

2. Jonathan Marchessault – He’s well aware of how poorly last season went. His underlying numbers have decreased the past five seasons and MacFarland is a data guy. Won’t be easy to find someone to take on the $5.5 million.

3. Joakim Kemell – The former first-round pick is only 22, but his offense hasn’t developed. Trade return may be a third-round pick or an equivalent player.

Jamie Drysdale could be at $6.25 … Would Dylan Larkin reconsider the Red Wings now?

Anthony Di Marco of Daily Faceoff: (mailbag) The Philadelphia Flyers defenseman Jamie Drysdale could come in at three or four years at $6.5 million.

NHL Rumors: Could Pat Verbeek Be on the Hot Seat in Anaheim This Season?

Not sure what Steve Yzerman‘s departure as the Detroit Red Wings GM means for Dylan Larkin. It may mean that he says. Would he recind his trade request? They haven’t really made any changes this offseason to make them a better playoff contender.
